There is a tab on my browser I have been ignoring for 11 days.

You know the one. Google Analytics. Or your platform insights. Or that one spreadsheet you swore was going to change your life in Q1 of 2024…

The cycle goes like this: you open it. You squint at a line graph. You feel a vague sense of dread. You close it. You go make another iced coffee. You tell yourself you'll come back to it "later when you have time to actually think."

Later never comes. And all that juicy data is still there. It's just… sitting.

Here's the part nobody says out loud: most founders aren't avoiding analytics because they're lazy. 

They're avoiding it because the data doesn't tell them anything useful. It tells them numbers. It doesn't tell them what to do with the numbers.

Reach is up 12%. Cool. Is that because of the carousel on Tuesday or the thread on Sunday or the fact that Mercury is in retrograde? Who knows. Not you. Not me. Not Google.

So you make content based on vibes. You repeat what felt good. You avoid what feels bad. You hope it's working.

Which works great until you're three months in and can't tell the difference between a strategy and a lucky week.

I've been building something to fix this for myself — a weekly marketing recap that pulls my data automatically and sends me a plain-English readout of what's actually happening. Not a dashboard or another tab I'll ignore. A readout. Like a text message from a friend who happens to read graphs.

I'm about to teach other people how to build their version of it.

More on that this week. For now, just know: you don't have a discipline problem. You have a translation problem. And we can fix that.
