A lot of business owners aren't ready to use AI in their marketing yet.

And I say that as someone who literally builds AI systems for a living. So hear me out.

The problem isn't the tools.

ChatGPT works. Claude works. The tools are fine.

The problem is that most people are skipping a step — a really important one — before they ever open a single AI tool.

What I mean by "the foundational work"

Before AI can actually work for you, you need to have done the marketing work yourself first. That means:

→ Knowing what content actually resonates with your specific audience (not just what sounds good in theory)

→ Having your own frameworks and content structures you can point to and repeat

→ Understanding your voice well enough to recognize when AI gets it wrong

It's about having enough reps under your belt that you know what you're handing off.

Here's what happens when that foundation isn't there

AI fills in the gaps. And it won't fill them in with your positioning, your personality, or your point of view.

It fills them in with generic.

You end up with content that's fast, polished, and completely off-brand. Your audience can feel it even if they can't name it. And you're left wondering why the tool that was supposed to save you time is somehow making your marketing feel worse.

That's not a tool problem. That's a foundation problem.

Who IS ready for AI in their marketing

The business owners who get the most out of AI aren't the ones who adopted it the fastest. They're the ones who understood their own marketing first — and then used AI to scale what was already working.

They've posted enough to know what lands. They have their voice documented. They have a strategy they can actually hand off.

AI is a multiplier. But you have to give it something worth multiplying.

So what do you do if you're not there yet?

You build the foundation. You get clear on your audience, your content structures, your voice, your strategy — and then you bring in the tools to amplify it.

That's exactly what we work on inside Strategies that Stack®. The marketing foundation that makes everything else — including AI — actually work the way it's supposed to.

If that's what's been missing, you know where to find me.

Abandon Cart Emails

I’m sick of losing sales. There. I said it. I’m tired of knowing folks have checked out my sales page, started the checkout process on the checkout page, and then… didn’t complete the purchase. It sucks obviously to lose money but it also sucks to know that person might be skipping something they need because they have a question, forgot, or walked away from their computer. I’ll be sprucing up my Zapier automation using an affordable template (aff. link) from Sam @ Nomad Copy.
